CUSTOMISATION

Metro 8.2 theme

So, yesterday my friend came up to me and said he just downloaded a $3.99 windows 8 theme. I said
"same-pinch" xcept for the fact that i brought it for free. Yes, the windows 8 theme is out by the jailbreak community and within a few days have hit a million downloads already.
The 8.2 is the newest update by themelt, of metro 8. It is a pretty good theme for all those craving for the new Windows8 look. This is just for you guys. the complete UI including the icons background categories and functions is inspired from the windows theme(windows 8)

It features a big Start Menu with 8 large customizable icons. along with the icons are 3 large hubs :
  1. Start
  2. Social
  3. Apps
All of the hubs are fully customizable and can be rearranged according to one's convenience any time of the day. There are three icons placed at the dock position (bottom) which consist of - The App store icon the windows logo and the rotation icon. All these three will go invisible once you start to navigate the pages. To get them back just click on the bottom of the screen and it will reappear again.
On clicking on the App Store Icon, both default and 3rd party apps will alphabetically show up in a list on the same green background  as the original theme. This is very useful as you save time on looking up for the app in the basic mega hub tabs. Second is the windows logo. It solves the purpose of switching back to the default apple theme without the need to restart manually. The last one helps to switch between portrait and landscape    view whenever you wish to change from horizontal to vertical or vice-versa.

Android Lock XT

Not to long ago, someone asked, “can the iPhone have the same unlock screen as the android phones? You know, the kind where you connect the dots to unlock.” Well, ask and you shall receive. A new tweak, for jailbroken devices, in Cydia, does just that. From Zmaster and the BigBoss repo comes Android Lock. Just install the package, and then go to Settings/AndroidLock and draw in your pattern. Make sure, if you already have a lockscreen passcode set, that you disable it first. Unless you want a redundant passcode for extra security.

WinterBoard

Springboard, or Home Screen is the standard application that manages the iOS home screen. Other tasks include starting WindowServer, launching and bootstrapping applications and setting some of the device's settings on startup.
Winterboard is a software that is run on jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touches. It allows custom themes to be downloaded to the device from Cydia and then be applied to the SpringBoard to modify the appearance of the device. Themes can have a variety of changes to the appearance of Springboard, mainly on the icon appearance. However themes also change elements of the user interface.

If iPhone is a revolution, Cydia is the application that has given the ‘hush-hush’ jailbreaking/unlocked iPhones a new recognition. However, the perfect blend comes with the installation of the much talked about theming tool – Winterboard from Cydia. But, what is driving people crazy over your Winterboard and gaga over Cydia? It is nothing but the zeal to create a customized look for the iPhone and iPod, that’s getting the people hooked up to this ‘wonder’ theming tool.

One of the important aspects about installing Winterboard is that, you need to have Cydia installed first and for that you need a jailbroken/ unlocked iPhone to start with. The beauty of Winterboard is that, it can handle everything from basic themes like wallpaper, status bar, dock, etc to entire themes for the customization of the complete system UI, including features like backgrounds, buttons and sounds. Presuming you already have an unlocked/jailbroken iPhone installed with Cydia; here is a step-by-step guide on :

• Installing WinterBoard from Cydia
• Installing themes from Cydia
• Applying selected theme(s) to WinterBoard
• Removing themes from WinterBoard

Cascade is a new Cydia tweak that brings in some very nice Cover flow animation (like swiping through albums when you rotate your device) for your dock. It definitely adds some shine to the dull four icon dock just sitting at the bottom of your SpringBoard. When combined with Infinidock, your dock can turn into one beautiful piece of work.
The Cascade cydia Tweak has quickly garnered a reputation of being a well sought out Cydia tweak for adding extra style to your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad. In case you have not heard of the Overflow Cydia tweak before, essentially what it does is brings a cover flow effect to your dock icons. When combined with the Infinidock tweak (scrolling dock) you get a really unique effect that resembles scrolling through album artwork via the Music.app.Cascade is neatly integrated into the Settings app, where you can find the enable/disable toggle.
